"I
Remember Who You Were," by Chick Music, tells the stories
of John Muir,
Aldo Leopold and Harry Tubbs. Music style: folk rock.
Chorus:
I don't want to just stand by
watching things fall apart
and when I feel my hands are tied
I'll remember who you are
Aldo
Leopold was a man before his time
Wisconsin River and its forests were his pride
He taught his students they must play a bigger role
To save the river you have got to save it all
Plants, animals, soil, water and the humans make it whole
(CHORUS repeated)
John Muir was a believer in the whole
His writings could touch the human soul
He believed the forests and the mountains should be saved
Not for the money but for the legend that they gave.
The Sierra Club is the legend that he made.
(CHORUS
repeated)
Harry
Tubbs was a native of Green Bay
He watched the river as it started to decay
People were threatened by the things he had to say
But it was his actions that brought about the change
Just a man who believed in justice for the people and
the river has been saved.
