Wisconsin
has a strong pro-environment culture. Why is this so?
The
answer can be found in the history of the state. This CD presents
history through songs and the stories connected with those
songs. The tunes run a range of 1990s
styles, appropriate for all ages. All the songs were written
and performed by Wisconsinites, the recording sessions took
place in 1997.
Before
each song, a narrator gives a brief description of the historical
context of the song. This is useful for educators who want
to introduce new ideas to their classroom without major prep
work. Printed background sheets are available to give teachers
and students more information about the events described in
the songs.
